As per the drawn schedule, STG Consulting Enterprise fulfilled their promise and indeed went back to the Sofunda Secondary School‘s senior grade (Grade 12).
The educators were so happy to see us. They confidently told Mr Marcus Masemola that they appreciate the effort and that they have already experienced change with their Grade 12 learners.
The program was about the following:
1. Study Techniques
- As a grade 12 learner you must know yourself and be content with who you are. Knowing yourself will help you to understand which suitable Study Technique you could use for yourself.
- Studying should be based on a Goal one has to achieve.
- Know what your Goal is, understand it and work towards achieving your Goal.
- Have a SMART principle when setting your Goal. You must be SPECIFIC about it, your Goal must be MEASURABLE, your Goal must be ARTERNABLE, your Goal must be RELEVANT and the Goal must have a TIME Bound.
2. Creating Timetable
- Since you know yourself, understanding which time is suitable for you to study will not be a problem.
- Set a time table and be committed to it.
- Set your time table in your order of subject preference.
- Have breaks while studying.
- Grade 12 learners were advised to create a daily study table, be committed to it.
- Getting enough sleep is important.
3. Create a study area
- This environment should be comfortable, but not too relaxing, be free of distractions, and be well-lit. You should also have enough room to spread out your texts books and notes.
- Make sure you have the necessary items with you when you study. You’ll need a desk that’s big enough to spread your books, laptop, paper and supplies.
- Try not to respond to phone calls or texts, this will break your concentration and you will lose focus.
- Let people living with you know that when your door is closed, it means you do not
want to be disturbed. Or make use of your school/community library.
