The Following where the topics that Mr. Marcus Masemola addressed at Bright Star Private School:
- Team Work
- Cultural Diversity
- Sharing a common vision/goal
Mother Teresa said “none of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful”. Mr. Masemola emphasized that each and every team member must understand and commit him/herself towards the ultimate goal of the team. He further spoke on the importance of embracing each other as team members.
On cultural diversity
Abhijit Naskar says “There is no religion better than love, no color better than the color of happiness and no language better than the language of compassion”. South Africa is a beautiful country with its own cultural diversity, we all need to embrace each other and learn a lot from our diversity rather than work against each other.
We are a beautiful nation “motho ke motho ka batho”. Bright Star Private School is perfect example of culture diversity as the school has staff members from different cultures and background, there is a lot that each staff member can teach or share with one another.
Every team member should take note of each other characters and attitude as they differ from time to time. “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – African Proverb
The last presentation was on the importance of sharing a common goal as a team or institution. It is important for an institution or team to clearly communicate their desired goals or objectives which they wants to achieve, so that every member understand what is expected out of him/her.
Achieving a common goals makes the team members feel valued and each member invest their time towards the success of the business or organization, it also boost the morale of each team member.
One of the key important factor in sharing a common goal is for each member of the team to respect the submission from the team members, each team member must also take note that it is not about his/her success but it the success of the entire team.
The team building was concluded with a Jerusalem dance where all participants joined and had fun.
Working together in partnership we can achieve more
