See The Glory Consulting Enterprise Facilitated a strategic session of Eastdene Combine School on 4 March 2023. The theme of the strategic planning was how to Improve Academic Results. The Strategic Session was attended by SGB; Educators: RCL; and the Circuit Manager Mr. Daniel Makuse.
The principal of the school, Mrs Walters, started by congratulating the grade 6 and 11 for achieving 100% pass in the academic year 2022. She further encouraged other grades to work hard in 2023 and learn from grade 6 and 11 on they achieved 100% pass. The principal of the school further gave a report on the resolution taken in the previous strategic plan. She requested all the grades Educators to work hard towards achieving at least above 90%. Mr. Makuse, the Circuit Manager in his address, indicated that the school has the potential to achieve above 90%. He further warned everyone that underperformance is a misconduct. Mr. Makuse encouraged everyone to deliver quality teaching and quality results, and we are here at the Strategic Session to discuss how we can do that. The Motivational speaker of the day was Dr. Mashifane, his topic was that it is doable and you are accountable. Dr. Mashifane further spoke about:

being productive at your work ;
check your competency;
level of your functioning and
taking care of your mental health.

Mr. Marcus Masemola presented on the following topics

1 How to achieve results
2. Where are the issues of interest, and
3 how can we improve the academic performance of the school

Mr Marcus Masemola went into detail with regards to the school performance; he indicated the gap in the intermediate phase, and he requested that it must be addressed. The SGB Chairperson gave a message of support. In his message, he encouraged everyone to work as a team in order to improve the academic results of the school. He furthered affirmed the SGB support and availability to assist the school.

The RCL President, Mr. Manana, spoke on behalf of the learners, and in his address, he spoke about the importance of reviving sports in the school. Mr. Mathontsi represented educators, and he spoke more on teamwork and having commitment towards improving the academic results of the school. The session then went into 4 commissions to discuss how the school can improve their academic performance in 2023. After commissions at the plenary, it was agreed that The Circuit Manager, Mr Makuse, will adopt the school for this year, 2023. Let every educator be on time on task. More assessments shall be implemented in each phase after assessment feedback must be given.

The session closed on a high note, and everyone was looking forward to implement what was agreed upon. Education remains as one of the critical factors towards a person development; putting more emphasis and commitment towards education will help us to be a better society.
