The workshop was attended by all SGB members of Ipani Primary school and Beestepan Agricultural high school. Presentations were done by STG team namely Mr. Marcus Masemola, Ms. Sophia Mogola and Ms. Precious Sibiya.

The SGB member were very eager to learn, having energy and enthusiasm at the workshop. The interaction was amazing and a lot of questions were raised especially about drafting of policies, importance of understanding and knowing the vision and mission of the school and how to handle the school finances.

STG team was able to give answers to the questions asked and further advised the SGB to make reference to the South African Schools Act 84 of 1998 when it comes to drafting their own policies, the roles of each member and how to conduct themselves as SGB members.

STG team advised both schools that when coming to drafting their policies, it is best that they align their policies to the current challenges that the school is facing such as cultural traditions / ritual, dress codes of the school, code of conducts etc.

It is important that all stakeholder who are assign to the school to work together as a collective, in making sure that the vision and mission of the school is implemented. The values are canvassed with shareholders.

Good leadership in schools helps to foster both a positive and motivating culture for staff and a high-quality experience for learners and educators. Leaders at all levels in schools can contribute to this by developing the top skills needed for the school.

It is important that each and every stakeholder understand their roles and responsibilities especially in the school environment. The SGB, Principal, Educator, Learners and community members must understand their responsibility.

Working together in partnership we can greatly make a difference in our schools, it takes a village to raise a child. Let us continue to work together in creating a better future for our youth and the society.
