STG Study with Intention Mentorship Programme for Grade 12
See The Glory Consulting has launched a mentorship programme called SWIP (Study with Intention Programme). The objectives of this mentorship are:
- Mentor Grade 12 learners
- Provide support for Grade 12 learners in their final year of secondary education
- Assist Grade 12 learners with career planning
- Help Grade 12 learners with time management and planning
- Prepare Grade 12 learners with essential life skills such as time management, organization, stress management, and effective communication
- Support Grade 12 learners in building self-esteem and confidence in making informed decisions about their future
- Assist Grade 12 learners with goal setting
- Help Grade 12 learners with applications to institutions of higher learning
Our Mentorship Programme commenced with the enrolment of 22 grade 12 learners from LD Moetanalo Secondary School.
Some of the topics addressed by our mentors during the year include:
- Grade 12 Preparation (start now)
- Study with Purpose (Planning, strategies to succeed in Grade 12, post-grade 12 options, career guidance, institutions of higher learning, bursary opportunities, calculating APS scores)
- Goal Setting (Personal Development Plan, setting a clear direction)
- Study Techniques (Identify strengths and weaknesses, determine effective study techniques for yourself, create a study timetable)
- Decision Making and Problem Solving (Making quality decisions, identifying and solving problems effectively)
- Character, Moral Values, and Attitude
- Life Skills
In our first year of the SWIP mentorship program, all our mentees successfully completed their grade 12 examinations, achieving a 100% pass rate. Additionally, we registered 15 Bachelor passes, 5 Diplomas, and 2 Higher Certificates.
